Job Description

Position Title: T/A Field Coordinator

Location: Fort Saskatchewan, AB

Principal Tasks:

  • Responsible for execution of Workscope for sub-blocks / Systems / Train(s) of assigned turnaround Block.
  • Generally will have expertise in a given area such as exchangers, piping, or vessels and drums.
  • Provides direction and leadership to contract work force.
  • Skill level in turnaround work processes, including Downstream One.
  • May also assist in planning phase & Pre-TA preparations, in a period of less work.
  • Responsible for safety performance of all contractors assigned to their area.
  • Ensures compliance to plant safe work practices, policies and procedures including, but not limited to Downstream One, MOC, quality, and addenda processes.
  • Responsible for schedule update of assigned work activities on paper copies (scheduler will actually input).
  • Directs field activities for assigned area during Pre-TA preparations, Turnaround execution and Plant start-up assistance and is the first line of contact with the various contactors.
  • Works the agreed to plan, or escalates to supervision when this cannot be achieved.
  • Ensures crafts are highly productive by removal of barriers, and escalates to the block coordinator when he cannot.
  • Ensures execution of environmental plan (waste disposal, frac tanks, vac trucks, etc).
  • Is the Quality Captain for his / her area of responsibility, responsible for all aspects of quality – material, flange tightness, completion status.
  • Coordinates between all craft disciplines during execution.
  • Responsible for reporting status of all work assigned on a daily basis.
  • Responsible for proper turnover of all work packs and systems to which he / she is assigned during execution.
  • Responsible for timesheet authorization for assigned contractors.
  • Provides a critique of turnaround activities after completion of project, participates in Lessons Learned and Lookback process.
  • Is mindful of and continues to look for opportunities to reduce turnaround scope, and plan and execute with low cost mindset.
  • Should be spending 75% - 80% of time in the field driving work during execution.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • 5 Years + Experience in executing turnarounds.
  • Discipline specific roles.
  • Supervisory skills in managing crafts.
  • Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Customer focus (operations).
  • Works effectively in a Team environment and build consensus.
  • Computer skills - PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, Primavera, Visio, GSAP.
  • Lean T/A Execution Training.
  • HSE Leadership Training.
