Description

Works under the direction of and provides assistance to the Regional Controller to provide coordination of company financial planning, reporting, and budget management functions.  Ensure company accounting procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles.

Primary Duties:

  • Assists Regional Controller in directing and coordinating company financial planning and budget management functions
  • Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget for responsible region
  • Responsible for maintaining company financial statements and reporting financial results to the appropriate parties and stakeholders
  • Assists in coordinating the yearly audit and other regular auditing activities involved with respective regional activities
  • Prepares reports which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations
  • May provide management with timely reviews of organization’s financial status and progress in its various programs and activities
  • Assists reports preparation required by regulatory agencies and or board of directors
  • Works with operations personnel to understand the business and ensure that transactions are being accounted for correctly
  • Assist in financial audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvements
  • May participate in related functional projects
  • Other duties as assigned

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of auditing standards and procedures including GAAP (generally accepted accounting standards)
  • Familiarity / knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley compliance and regulations a plus
  • Knowledge of all aspects of accounting functions and principles
  • Knowledge of accounting and billing systems (RTMS and Great Plains) a plus
  • Knowledge of legislation governing accounting practices
  • Strong interpersonal and professional skills

Education, or Certifications Required:

  • Five to eight years related experience
  • Consolidation experience preferred
  • CPA not required, but a plus
  • Oil and Gas / Energy services industry experience required
