The posted position is for a high-level Geoscience and Reservoir Engineering Technology Specialist that will work with and support multiple disciplines across several Wyoming/Rocky Mountain oil and gas fields at different stages of development.  Knowledge about subsurface data types, their usages and import/export utilities in multiple software applications is essential.  Working with historic data bases and creating/analyzing data tables, data graphs and geospatial mapping is key.  Working knowledge of geologic/subsurface software such as ArcMap, Petrel, GeoLog, GeoGraphix, OpenWorks, GoCad and Spotfire is ideal; ArcMap is required.  Must be able to mine and QC data, make maps, cross sections, and reservoir modeling input tables. 

Responsibilities:

• Subsurface databases and share drive folder structure stewardship

• Subsurface data management: maintain corporate records including new drill wells, data loading/data transfer/data import & export between software applications.

• Collects and analyzes data for content and quality, prepares data for use within team projects

• Geological and reservoir mapping: strong background in ArcMap and Petrel

• Adaptable & capable with variety of software support: Openworks, GeoGraphix, GoCad, Eclipse, Spotfire, & Excel

• Supports both high-tech and low-tech needs of projects, seen as a key member to multiple projects

• Mentor less experienced Technicians, Geoscientists & Engineers 

Requirements:

EDUCATION: High School diploma or equivalent, two-year or four-year degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE: 5+ years of technician experience supporting oil & gas technical staff.

COMPUTER PROFICIENCY: Exceptional computer skills and competency in software packages including ArcGIS, Petrel & Landmark (OpenWorks). Geolog experience appreciated.  MS Office suite required; Excel & Power Point specifically.

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE: Good working knowledge of basic subsurface geology, drilling results and reservoir modeling. Knowledge of subsurface data capture, analysis and end use to determine future development programs is critical.

COMMUNICATION/TEAM: Managing multiple projects, networking outside of team, excellent oral and written communication, and knowledge transfer.
