This is an integrated energy company with interests globally, their operations are divided into three business segments: Upstream, Midstream, and Downstream. The company has developed a strategic growth plan to accelerate returns from their potentially prolific assets in the Asia Pacific region. The Asia Pacific Region represents a strong growth market where more investment funds are and will be poured into.
You are responsible for planning and organising all the operations that take place in the drilling of oil and gas wells. You need to draw up plans for drilling operations as well as to take account of costs and deadlines. You also have to specify the drilling programs and plan the wells, supervise the drilling crew, work with geosciences team in accordance with safety management, ensuring that an operation follows all environmental regulations. You will be involved from the initial stages of well development, through to the testing and operations phases, until the completion and abandonment of an oil and gas deposit.
To become a drilling engineer you need to complete a bachelor of engineering, majoring in oil and gas or petroleum engineering with 5+ years working experience. Good command of English both in oral and written is necessary.
